(My <a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/steampunk-nerf-maverick-prototype-001\/\">first attempt<\/a> was in March 2010.)<\/p>\n<p>I will eventually post all of the photos of this process online, but this blog post is specifically to address the color scheme. I don&#8217;t like the gold on the decorations. I thought that I would.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_02.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_02.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 02\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 02\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 02. Base color is gold. I think it looks garish.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_03.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_03.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 03\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 03\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 03. Brass with a lot of copper highlights. I like this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_04.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_04.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 04\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 04\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 04. Brass with a bit less copper. I like this one better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_05.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_05.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 05\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 05\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 05. Black highlights on the slide and frame. Not too bad.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_06.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_06.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 06\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 06\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 06. There are things I like about this color scheme, but I think it has too many colors. I do like the black on the grip.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_07.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_07.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 07\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 07\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 07. I kept the black on the grip, and simplified the color scheme a bit. Still not quite right.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_08.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_08.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 08\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 08\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 08. Black on the grip, simpler color scheme, and the flourishes are not highlighted at all. I think that this is the scheme I will use, but I will sleep on it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_09.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_09.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 09\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 09\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 09. Copper slide, and the decorations on the slide and frame are highlighted. I think I like scheme 08 better.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_10.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_10.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 10\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 10\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 10. Black grip, black highlights, some more color on the cylinder.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_11.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_11.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 11\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 11\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 11. Same as 10, but with caramel frame and slide decorations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_12.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blackgate.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/color_test_scheme_12.jpg\" alt=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 12\" title=\"Nerf Maverick scheme 12\" style=\"border: none; margin: 4px;\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nColor scheme 12.
